Glitter House Gold

This year my friend Mark Vickrey, who owns Blooms by Vickrey, asked me to do some glitter houses for his shop.  I did some traditional houses like other years,  and I also did some beach houses; but I wanted to do something different.  I decided to do some white houses with gold roofs.  I painted them with DecoArt Warm White and the roof and base with DecoArt Dazzling Metallics Emperor’s Gold.   I then used glass glitter on just the houses and used a red ribbon on my wreaths.  For more details on creating glitter houses you can go to:

After making the white ones, I also made a red and green house.  The red house is painted with DecoArt Country Red and the green house is painted with Foliage Green.

Bloom’s helped to decorate the PA Governor’s house for Christmas this year.  The Theme was White Christmas and they were decorating the living room.  They used three of my glitter houses in the living room on the center coffee table.  I was tickled to have them be a part of the decorations for the Governor’s house this year.  A picture of the houses was used on the front of the open house video and post cards.

Here is a picture of Mark and Mrs. Wolf (the Governor’s wife) while they were decorating.

And here is a larger picture of the living room with the houses:

I am sorry that I don’t have a better closeup picture of the white houses, but I was in a big rush to get them to Mark and forgot to take pictures.

Here are a couple of the beach houses I did this year:

Hope this inspires you to create some new glitter houses this year.

Happy Creating,

Jane

PS.  If you are in the area you will definitely want to stop into Blooms and see all thier wonderful decorations.  There address is 2125 Market Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
