Sugar Cookies with Glaze or Frosting

  • 1 ½ cups sugar

  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tsp. Vanilla
  • 5 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 3 tsp. Cream of tartar
  • 3 Tlb. Milk
  • 1 tsp. Baking soda

Cream sugar & butter, mix in eggs and vanilla. Add flour, salt and cream of tartar. Mix milk and baking soda together and add to mixture. Roll out & cut. Bake 3250 8 to 10 minutes. They will not brown. Frost with butter cream frosting.

Frosting

  • 1 lb. 10-x Sugar
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 Tablespoons milk

In large bowl, beat together sugar, butter, vanilla and milk until smooth. If necessary, add more milk until frosting is spreading consistency.

Powder Sugar Glaze

  • 4 cups sifted powdered sugar
  • ¼ + milk

Combine powdered sugar and ¼ cup milk in a medium mixing bowl. Stir in additional milk 1 teaspoon at a time, till of drizzling consistency. Tint desired colors.
