Sometimes it doesn’t take a lot to make an occasion special….and we all appreciate when someone makes the effort for us. This design is super quick and can be put on wine glasses like I am showing you. Think about all the other valentine gifts you could make using this design… it could also be put on coffee mugs, an ornament, votive candle holder, a glass jar holding cookies or even on a card.
To make this project you will need:
- Wine glasses or surface of choice,
- DecoArt 3D Opaque Gloss Enamels: True Red,
- DecoArt Gloss Enamels: Royal Fuchsia, White
- DecoArt Americana Gloss Enamels Glass Stencil Daubers (DABK21) 1/3″, 1/2″
- Miscellaneous: dishwashing liquid, isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, paper palette or plastic plate, paper towels, pencil, scissors, tape, transfer paper, water basin
Note: Follow manufacturers’ instructions for proper product usage.
Before painting, wash all glassware in warm, soapy water. Rinse well and let dry. Wipe each piece using a paper towel with alcohol.
Note: When painting the wine glasses or coffee mugs, start all painting 1/2″ below the rim. Allow the paint to dry thoroughly beween coats.
Painting
Here is a video on painting the glasses. Also, below are the step-by-step instructions.
Printable version of heart pattern – heart pattern
Heart – Tape the pattern to inside of glass. Lay glass flat and hold paint bottle at 45 degree angle to glass. Beginning at top and following directional lines on pattern, squeeze paint in a loose pattern across glass, ending at bottom of heart. Fill in with additional lines if needed. Allow to dry lying flat.
Dots – Dip the 1/3″ dauber into White Gloss Enamels and place dots on top of glass base. You could also use end of paint brush if you would like smaller dots.
Base of glass – Dip the 1/2″ dauber into Royal Fuchsia Gloss Enamels and pounce on bottom of base of glass. Allow to dry, and repeat for solid coverage.
FINISH – Heat set following the paint manufacturer’s directions.
I hope you enjoy painting this quick project.
Happy Painting and Happy Valentine’s day!
