Quick Egg Bunny & Chick

When I was playing with my other Egg Bunny and Egg Peep, I thought I should do a couple that are simpler like I did for my Egg Nativity and Egg Snowies.  So I came up with a couple for you.

I know what you are thinking. Even though these are quick, Easter is a day away and I have a lot of other things to do.  But they are not just for Easter. Think spring, or favors for a wedding or baby shower or a tea.  They could be painted in other cute colors and you could easily add the place card holder/ornament hook like we did in the egg nativity.

Before we get started, watch the video on using Quikwood if you are not familiar with it:

To create the cute chick you will need a 2 1/2″ Styrofoam egg and Quikwood.

Follow the directions in the video below to make your Quick Egg Chick:

Once everything was set I added DecoArt MagiKote to the Styrofoam following the manufacturers directions.  I added three coats allowing it to dry between coats.

You can paint these cute peeps any color you want.  I used the following DecoArt colors for mine:

I then sprayed them with a coat of DecoArt Matte spray sealer.

I mixed Burnt Umber with DecoArt Antiquing Medium to antique the bunny.  For the Chick I used Raw Sienna and DecoArt Antiquing Medium.  When it was dry I sprayed with another coat of sealer.

I hope you have fun painting these and think outside the box to paint them.

Have a very Blessed Easter my friends,

Jane
