Lay parchment paper over pattern for bunny ears. Mix sliver of QW and divide into two. Roll each into a long skinny coil about 1 ¼” with top end being slightly pointed. For back ear lay with pointed end at top over pattern. Gently flatten. Roll bottom of ear into thin point so that you will be able to insert into head when cured. Lay pointed end on front ear pattern and gently flatten. Run toothpick down center of ear. Roll bottom into thin point at bottom. Lift tip of front ear up. Allow to cure.
To make body mix ¼” of QW. Cut toothpick in half. Lay parchment paper over pattern. Roll clay into egg shape and lay in center of pattern. Begin pressing and patting filling in pattern and making a dome shape. Lift top of body and insert toothpick under it making sure the toothpick lines us with the neck on the pattern. Allow to cure.
Mix 1/8” of QW and pull off a ball a little larger than a ¼” for tail and then pull off very small ball for nose. Roll remaining clay into a short cone shape for head. Align body up with head and press into place on pattern creating a dome shape and allowing room for neck. Slip back ear into back of head in center top of head . Insert front ear into clay slightly forward from back and back a little from other ear having the ear come forward. Add nose to front of face. Add tail to back of bunny. Using pointy tool or pencil press indents all over tail. Allow to cure
Mix sliver of QW and flip bunny over. Place ball on back of head to cover toothpick and flatten and blend into place. Using other piece of clay lay at top of body and press and blend into place making sure none of the clay is showing on the front. Allow to cure.
Attaching tree to bunny and decorating tree:
For the front legs mix 1/16” of QW and divide into two. For the back legs mix up ¼” of QW and divide in two with the one piece slightly bigger than the other. Start by rolling one front leg into a coil about 1 ¼” long and attach to back shoulder. If it doesn’t stick use a little super glue gel. Using smaller piece for back leg on back begin rolling into ball and then begin rolling with finger and creating a thin extension that is about ¾” long. Attach to back of body and position leg out. Lay tree on top of both legs and gently press into place. Roll outer front leg into a coil and about 1 ¼” long and lay on shoulder by neck and bend at elbow with hand resting on tree. Roll outer back leg like you did other back leg and lay on lower body having leg extend out and resting on bottom of trunk. Allow to cure.
Mix a sliver of QW and begin rolling small balls and placing on the tree. Mix more clay if needed. Allow to cure.
Finish tree by bending over a piece of wire to make a hook about ½” long. Mix a sliver of QW and divide into two. Place small ball of clay on back of bunny’s head and insert wire. Add ball of clay to back of top of tree and make another hook and insert. Allow to cure. (video)
Deer and Wreath Ornament
Deer Antlers:
To make antlers mix of 1/16” of QW and let sit 5 minutes. Pinch and create flat pancake. Using large Kemper star pattern cutter cut two stars. Pull two points of star together and blend down to make base of antler. Gently tap points and then pinch and pull two side points forward to create antler. Also pinch center anther to shape. Allow to sit 5 minutes and then pick up each antler and continue to blend clay and shape. If needed allow to sit 5 more minutes and then pick up and do final shaping. Allow to cure.
Deer head:
Mix ¼” of QW and roll into a ball. Lay a piece of parchment paper over pattern. Lay ball in center and begin patting and filling in shape with the clay creating a dome shape by applying more pressure on outside edges. Lift top of head with blade and slip antlers in place. Gently pat in place and allow to cure. (video).
Deer nose and ears:
Mix 1/8” of QW and pull off two balls that are about 3/8” for the ears and the remaining piece is for the nose. Off of larger ball pull off very small piece for nose and roll into a ball and then roll remaining clay into a cone that is ¾” – 1” long. Flatten back and center on face with nose pointing up. Gently pat on tip and then attach ball for nose. For ears roll each ball into a cone about ¾” long. Lay on parchment paper and gently flatten. Lay pointy tool or pencil from point of ear to the back and pinch clay around tool point. Pick up and position on face and lay next to antler. Press and remove tool. Blend clay at back of ear to head. Repeat for other ear. Keep watching and lift ears up as they cure. Allow to cure. (video)
Mix sliver of QW and lay over antlers on back and blend into place. Fold over piece of wire to make ½” hook and slip into clay.
Wreath:
Mix 1/8” of QW and roll into a coil about 5” long. Lay parchment paper over pattern and lay coil around circle. Gently pat into place and allow to cure.
Mix 1/2” of QW and pinch and pat until it is thin, then begin cutting small hands out of clay. Reroll and cut hands until you have about 7- 10 hands. Wait about 5 minutes. Begin placing hands on wreath. Pinch back of hand and spread fingers, then place on wreath. Continue placing the next one behind the first one leaving enough room between them for berries. Also lift fingers on each hand so that they are not right on top of each other. Continue placing leaves until you have about one inch left. Using ball of clay left from cutting out hands, lay on wreath and attach deer’s head. Mix sliver of QW and roll small balls for berries and attach to the wreath. Allow to cure.
If you would like to put a bow under the deer’s neck mix a sliver of QW. Roll into a ball and attach clay to bottom back of deer and then fold over a piece of wire for hook and insert into clay. Allow to cure. (video)
Santa with Owl Ornament

For Santa’s face mix 3/8” of QW and roll into a ball. Lay a piece of parchment paper over pattern and place clay in center of pattern. Begin pressing and patting to fill in the shape keeping it thinner at edges to create a dome shape. Allow to cure.
For nose mix a sliver of QW and pull off a ¼” ball. Roll into a 5/8” cone and center in face allowing room for hat and beard and mustache. Flatten bottom of nose with blade by either pushing up on it on cutting it off. Allow to cure. (video)
Owl:
Mix ¼” of QW and roll into a ball and then in an oval. Flatten with fingers so that it is just a little more than a ¼” thick. Begin pinching ears at top. Lay on parchment paper flatten top of head. The owl is about ¾” wide and 1” tall. Allow to cure.
To finish owl mix up a sliver of QW and pull off two small balls for eyes that are less than ¼” about 3/16”. This is for the feathers around the eyes so make sure they are the same size. Lay on face and flatten with fingers. Pull off two very small balls about 1/16” for center of eye and place in center. Pull off a ball a little less than 1/8” and roll into a small cone and attach between eyes for beak. Allow to cure. (video)
Adding Hat and Beard:
For Santa’s hat mix ¾” of QW and roll into a cone about 5” long, keeping the tip skinny. Flatten fat end making it width of head and then lay on top of head. For the beard mix ¾” of QW and roll into a cone about 5” long. Flatten top part of beard and then begin pressing down in center and pulling up on edges to make side burns. Lay on face leaving enough room for mustache and having sides come up to hat. Mix 1/8” of QW and roll into a coil about the width of the head. Lay on bottom of hat and gently pat into place.
Fold hat down and then begin waving up and down. Place owl in bottom of last down loop and then have tip of hat go out. Keep tip of hat thin so that you can place a ball on it.
Fold beard up having touch against hat, then go down and back up. Roll tip of beard into swirl. To make hanger for ornament fold over a piece of wire and trim ends to ½” long. Slip into back of hat. Allow to cure. To finish Santa mix 1/8” of QW and pinch it flat. Cut out one small hand. Reroll clay and pull off a ball a little larger than1/4” for ball of hat. Insert pointy tool or pencil into ball and attach to end of hat tail. If it will not stay add a drop of super glue gel into hole and attach. Reshape if needed. For the mustache pull off two ¼” balls and roll each into a 1/2” cone. Lay fat part of each under nose and gently press into place in the center. Lift ends and curl up. For eyebrows pull off two small ball about 1/16” and roll into a small cone about ¼”. Place on edge of hatband with centers going slightly up. For greens on hat pick up small hand and pinch back together. Place on top edge of hat band. Pull off three small balls for berries and place on edge of hat. Keep eye on leaf and keep lifting up if needed. Make another hook by folding over a piece of wire and cutting to ½”. Place remaining clay on back of owl and insert hook being careful not to mess up any uncured clay. Allow to cure.
