Sculpting Stars:
Mix ½” of QW and pinch and press to flatten then lay on parchment paper and gently even out with palm of hand. Cut 1 large star, reroll clay as needed. Cut 2 medium stars and 3 small stars. Using pencil or tool place hole in top of one of the medium stars. Cut out additional stars if desired. Allow to cure.
Painting Stars:
Base – True Ochre, highlight – Moon Yellow, shade – Deep Burgundy.
Sculpting Candy Canes:
Lay a piece of parchment paper over pattern. For smaller candy cane Mix ¾” of QW and roll into a coil about 6” long. Position over pattern and gently press and flatten. Slide piece of 16 gauge wire under end of candy cane. Make the larger candy cane the same way using 1” of QW and roll into a coil about 7” long. Allow to cure. Mix a sliver of QW and divide in two. Roil into a coil about 1½” – 2” and lay over wire on back of cane. Bend into place and allow to cure.
Painting Candy Canes:
Base – Warm White, stripes – Tomato Red, shade Red stripes – Deep Burgundy, highlight – Bright Salmon.
Shade White stripes – Deep Midnight Blue.
Add a line highlight down outside edge for highlight – Warm White.
Finishing
Spray with varnish.
To make the tree cut the following lengths of roping: 4”, 6”, 9”, and 12”. Using a glue gun, glue 4” piece in top of cinnamon stick. Glue to back side of cinnamon stick the 6” piece centered at the top of the tree, drop 2 – 2 1/2″ and glue at center the 9″ piece, drop 2 – 2 1/2 ” and glue at center the 12″ piece. Turn over and place glue on cinnamon stick at center of top piece of roping. Pull ends across stick and press into glue, repeat for other two sections. Trim ends to desired width. Glue on stars.
Cut 1/2″ of QW and roll into a coil about 6″ long. Place on center back of pack and press firmly into place. Allow to cure. Insert oasis into pack and then insert tree and candy canes. Add additional pieces of roping about 3″ – 4″ longs to fill top of pack.
