When I was playing with my other Egg Bunny and Egg Peep, I thought I should do a couple that are simpler like I did for my Egg Nativity and Egg Snowies. So I came up with a couple for you.
I know what you are thinking. Even though these are quick, Easter is a day away and I have a lot of other things to do. But they are not just for Easter. Think spring, or favors for a wedding or baby shower or a tea. They could be painted in other cute colors and you could easily add the place card holder/ornament hook like we did in the egg nativity.
Before we get started, watch the video on using Quikwood if you are not familiar with it:
To create the cute chick you will need a 2 1/2″ Styrofoam egg and Quikwood.
Follow the directions in the video below to make your Quick Egg Chick:
To create your quick bunny you will need a 2 1/2″ Styrofoam egg, Quikwood and two round toothpicks.
Follow the video below to make your quick bunny:
Once everything was set I added DecoArt MagiKote to the Styrofoam following the manufacturers directions. I added three coats allowing it to dry between coats.
You can paint these cute peeps any color you want. I used the following DecoArt colors for mine:
- body – Sunny Day
- feet & beak – Tangerine
- Eyes – Ocean Blue, Soft Black, Snow White
You can paint your bunny any color you want. I used the following DecoArt colors for mine:
- Body – Fawn
- Nose and inside ears – Cotton Candy
- Eyes – Turquoise, Soft Black, Snow White
- Tail and cheeks – Light Buttermilk
I then sprayed them with a coat of DecoArt Matte spray sealer.
I mixed Burnt Umber with DecoArt Antiquing Medium to antique the bunny. For the Chick I used Raw Sienna and DecoArt Antiquing Medium. When it was dry I sprayed with another coat of sealer.
I hope you have fun painting these and think outside the box to paint them.
Have a very Blessed Easter my friends,
Jane
So creative. Thank you for sharing, and yes, I am always one of those burning the midnight oils trying to get something finished for a holiday. Happy Easter…♡
Me too, I have big plans but things get in my way (or maybe I can’t do as much as I think). Easter Blessings to you!
Very cute as always. Thanks so much for sharing this. There is something wrong with the rabbit video it doesn’t play. Thanks and have a lovely Easter. Joyce
Thank you Joyce, I did try the video and it is working for me so I am not sure what is wrong. Happy Easter to you
